What Will I Learn in Our Virtual Sessions
Here at MVNT Studio, we take a different approach. This post will walk you through why our Pilates-based rehabilitation actually works—especially when it’s personalized, consistent, and rooted in your unique recovery needs.
Learning
There are frequent points in our clients healing journey that lead them to plateaus. Small moments of progress but never quite getting past that level of progress. They often have done many training sessions, physical therapy appointments and treatments like massage, chiropractic or acupuncture. Oftentimes being given one too many guidances that leave them confused, unsure and disassociated from their own bodies. This is one point we address for our clients to learn about their personal needs that gets them to reach their goals or return back to activities. Often aligning the differentiating views they previously have heard but in a way that is constructive and given the appropriate reasons and conditions that need to be met for certain movements or recovery tools.
Moving
We then guide our clients into these specific movements focusing on their active difficulties and injuries or old surgeries. Giving them recovery movement tools to build clients mobility while guiding them through active recovery routines before reminding other tools to use when certain symptoms or conditions are met to go back to a doctor or massage therapist for further progression after manual therapy work.
Healing
This aspect goes beyond just the physical aspect of an injury. Many times our own thoughts prevent us from furthering our progression. It may be a level of self degradation telling yourself that you can’t do a movement. Even the fear factor that your brain just won’t let you do right away. Our goal is to guide you as our clients on healing this largely ignored issue for our chronic pain clients. Those who had gone through a physical traumatic event that led to their injury and hand in hand to even previous traumas that may be amplifying these feelings. Leading to some increased reaction to inflammation within the body that does affect us both in mind and in physical aspects. It is our goal to guide you past these in your own way and time to get past these mindset hurdles while also focusing on further reducing our bodies natural inflammatory response to stressors, intolerances and even deeper energetic feelings that may be affected.
Our MVNT Approach
A deep dive on our approach is in a previous post. Our MVNT method in summary focuses on all your past history, your lifestyle that may increase inflammation, and your goals and movement needs day to day.
These factors in mind develop into our full MVNT practice. Involved with in person or virtual pilates based training, following client education with an at home practice to continue daily. These become the stepping stones so that once each is met in ways that pain is reduced we continue to return your body to the abilities of it’s fullest potential while preventing further pain and discomfort that may involve more corrective exercises for imbalances in your musculature. Once each step is achieved we slowly progress to the movements the spine is able to do and challenge your areas of issue so that we provide the guidance and skills so that those movements no longer become an issue!
