You Need Mobility Training

If you’ve been experiencing a lot of pain or tension without any particular reason of it starting you probably need mobility training with your other routines.

The Spine is Flexible

Have you ever thought of what you used to be able to do or how you wish you didn’t have to fear or get anxious about starting a new fitness gym/class? Well some of that tension and stress is probably making you more stiff than you think.

As the spine is a mobile and flexible part of the body we should test to see if you have a lack of movement anywhere in one of the segments.

Try

  • Knee sways - knees bent feet flat on the mat and gently sway the knees from one side to the other.

  • Thoracic spine stretch - in quadruped place one hand behind your head and exhale to rotate towards the ceiling, keeping your hips aligned.

  • Greatest stretch in the world, kneeling - video below, in a single kneeling lunge bring one hand up towards the ceiling while your eyes follow the range it goes

If you feel some range difficulties, difference in range from left to right. You should be practicing these movements once a day. Office workers, high stress jobs like doctors attorneys and lawyers would benefit greatly from just a few extra mobility movements. As stress will affect how your body is able to move. Keep that in mind the next time you are in a fitness class or gym workout.

The Difference

This is one of the main differences of what pilates classes and pilates privates can help you. In every class or training session we incorporate mobility movements into each exercise. Benefiting in increasing flexibility and mobility while creating strength in the movement and motion that the body natural has. If that makes you curious to know what other aspects we can help you enjoy movement again feel free to reach out today and see me in person in Los Angeles or online for a virtual class or training session.

Hope that helps and I will see you in the next one!
