What to Expect in Private Pilates with Us
Private pilates is one of our specialties. Our clients are often experiencing a difficult time in their healthcare. It is common for our clients to be at a space in their healthcare that is not quite needing a physical therapist or aide doing the same set of 10 exercises each visit the past 3 months and needing something more that let’s them explore exercise and movement.
Starting with a Consultation
We offer a consultation with your chosen instructor that meets you needs. Currently at the time of this writing we have Julie, the owner, Yuko a certified athletic trainer specialized in dancers and performers and Catrice who is eager to learn how pilates can help people find a healthy aging. Each of us have our own specialties and experiences but the teacher that understands you is the best one to go with. A consultation allows you to see if your communication style matches each other, if your energies and personalities align and if you feel like you would be comfortable being taught by this person in a one on one basis. Although we do go over what we can help you with the real challenge is finding that matched personality and comfortability that often is that hardest part in most studios. We do our best to care for you more than the studio setting as what we do in sessions helps you in real life too.
Starting with an Introductory Pack
These are the best for those who already have a teacher they have chosen that matches their needs and energies. Perhaps someone you know referred you to us or someone suggested our studio to you and you’ve had a chance to look over our website, online presence or social media to get a deeper understanding of our teachers. Your first sessions are always a movement evaluation to see if pilates movements are appropriate with the details you’ve provided to us in our intake form. The following sessions are meant to challenge you to find your baseline abilities and movements. Not as a way to create a terrible experience but an opportunity to see the true movements that are a pain for you. The last sessions can be a mix of challenge and education so that you and the teacher can start processing what works best for your learning style and your needs. These sessions are the way to create a plan of action for us so that we find the progress and allow you to achieve your goals in a meaningful timeline.
Continued Sessions
Your continued sessions are meant to achieve your goals. These can change just as life does as nothing stays stagnant through even one day to the next. Feel free to mention any changes before starting your sessions as we want to celebrate you no matter where it begins or where it lands.
