Pilates Changed My Personal Training and Pain Journey

One day sipping on a cup of coffee at the front desk of my work I realized there must be something I can do. My body aches, my energy is low and I just did not feel like myself anymore. I decided “why not start up pilates again” so I did. Committed to a semester of mat pilates and loved it, it even got me into trying yoga and return to weights based group classes and training!

Pilates Changed Everything

It’s a feeling both an internal emotion and physical feeling. Besides feeling amazing emotionally and physically I felt like myself.

  • I moved and felt energized

  • I made better choices

  • I committed to fitness rather than looked at the price tag

  • I learned health is wealth, without it, well there is so many things I could list

  • I didn’t have to deal with my low back and hip pain

  • I got so much mobility and flexibility!

At this time through many questions and of course the financial commitment a low income adult and college student had to decide. I made the choice Pilates is my calling. Not for the income it would make me, but for the joy and feelings it gave me. Despite going hard in my strength training classes and 1 on 1 sessions personal training was not my starting point. I never felt so different from one session.

Bonus points for Pilates on

  1. Not feeling like I killed my muscles

  2. Feeling like I was taller and energized

  3. Making me be able to do more with this new energy

I wanted more people to experience this. I couldnt get over how it made me feel! So here I am today, worked in clinics, worked at Equinox, worked privately from day one. I love pilates. I dont think I will ever be able to say that about anything else and I hope you will to.

Pilates is something else, it changed my journey with pain and with personal training workouts.
