Inspiring others to Teach: The BASI Way
I want this to be just an open letter to show how it can take just one teacher to change your lifestyle and I am always inspired by the students I teach (in training or in classes).
Recently as I have talked with privately with my recent students. Both met me through a studio I taught classes one day a week. I taught classes that are progressive and informative. It flowed together, focusing on the hardest pose as our “peak pose” like we would in yoga. One of my students is a avid lover of pilates and has learned with other teachers through the BASI Pilates method and continues her studies to certification in the next months.
Here is Gloria Yang, a wonderful person who got to see a teacher who looked just like her when she started a few years ago!
It is always good to see new diverse teachers join the community. When I first started every instructor I ever met was a white woman in her 40-50s so seeing how it has become with the students I’ve inspired is such a treat!
My other student who took my classes is “Cece” her preferred name and one I will remember because of their journey through health, rehabilitation and fitness. I can’t wait to see where she goes and who she will inspire in the years to come.
I enjoy BASI Pilates deeply, the training is keeping up with the latest advances in the bodies we see. There is a coordinated flow of teaching, how to teach, and where a teacher can explore their own learning. No other training has been as supportive as BASI has been. I can attest it is also one of the few who always has been the most diverse and the most welcoming.
I miss my own teachers who inspired me and where time goes I remember where I started and who i’ve become. Never stop learning because it could lead to a new step in your journey.
