Change Takes Time

From a desk job to Pilates Instructor. What my daily diet, finances and life looked like at my desk job to my current life!

The Desk Job: 2017

The start of my day was at 4:30am because of my morning commute to work via transit, at that time, took about 2.5 hours. I was an administrative assistant at a Physical Therapy wellness center.

7:15am to 3:30pm work

4:30/5 school

8:30-10pm Commute home

Sleep

Talk about commitment!

Diet at a Desk

In a way this also connects with my finances because I couldn’t afford much despite all the hours, the better pay and the commute I had.

I mainly had coffee, a sandwich, and maybe some sort of salad or chicken that I’d pickup from the grocery store. On average I’d spend $30+ a day depending on what my school schedule was like as well. Which rounds out to be about 30% of my take home income!

Weight Gain

I weighed about 160lbs at this job, I was healthy-ish. Not sick with anything major but definitely not healthy fit.

Right now I am around 150lbs but workout a minimum of 2-3x a week and still commute to my jobs around the city! Meaning I stand, walk, and bike a lot compared to my comrades.

Is there a goal?

I’m not big on numbers when it comes to my body compositions and weight. I’m more interested in being aware of what my body feels right now. I quit heavy junk food in highschool because I felt stinging pain shoot through my arms. Mainly because I ate too much salt! That was my body’s reaction to it.

If I lack sunshine? I get fatigued easily.

If I eat too much meat? I’m bloated and feel slow.

It’s more about those feelings that mean most to me!

Right now my diet consists of cold brew coffee, whole food meals and also food from Territory foods!
