Ways we are Improving Pilates Group Classes
Have you ever wondered why there are so many new pilates studios opening in Los Angeles right now? As a professional instructor since 2017 this is part of the fluctuations in the fitness exercise world. However, there also comes the down side of classes that are too large to help clients who are recovering from an injury, who worry about their coordination and movement and maybe hesitant to do balancing exercises.
Our Focus to Improve Pilates Group Class
The main factor that we excel in with our group classes are the individual and hands-on adjustments that assist clients throughout the class. Not just once, but multiple times offering various offerings such as props, modifications and body alignment for optimal movement. Further benefiting clients outcomes and overall creating a space that allows clients who are completely new to exercise to also enjoy our classes.
Different Adjustments that Matter
If you’ve never had the experience of getting a proper cue or a hands-on adjustment that gives you an aha moment, know that you will experience that here at our small group studio based in Culver City. Some clients need this extra focus so that they recruit the right muscles and prevent over exerting muscles that do not need to be working in certain movements. Many times this is felt during some hip exercises that the client’s IT band is “screaming” at them when doing some of these exercises commonly seen in Pilates studios and group classes.
Learning to Move, not Just Fitness
We love a good workout, but does that change your overall muscle strength, endurance and joint stability? Not always. Just like personal training and lifting weights there are reasons certain body alignment matters for certain muscle groups. This is where learning to move matters and not just to do a fitness class. We expand on your body to build awareness, mind-body connection and also the mental strength to do the exercises properly over time.
