Expanding my Pilates Studio
Not that long ago I wasn’t sure pilates would of worked long term. I had a few years of just trying to fit in. A few years of just doing the sweat group classes. In the back I was doing all the continued education I wanted. For injuries, for women’s health, for the aging population, etc.
Then the strikes started. The economy was tanking with the ai boom and the entertainment industry has a rippling effect in Los Angeles that we just didn’t think would be as obvious as the weeks went on.
Now that we are in a more stable time and a rather busy wellness industry season I am finally able to expand my studio to offer pilates classes with my holistic approach. Allowing me to give proper adjustment and guidance to my new clients and those who want to feel some of the more real parts of pilates that have been washed out with the new young instructors entering the industry.
What the years have looked like for me
By 2020 Lockdown
I had a BASI Systems step barrel, TRX and BASI Systems chair
2022 was when I was burning out from lack of good working environments, lack of client care and low wages. So when I was just moments from my 2 week notice going into effect I was called (in the epiphany type of way) to this specific space. Ste 107.
As time went on the studio was not making me any take home pay but I had loyal clients and a foundation to let my studio become even more with time. I bought my BASI Systems ladder barrel in 2023.
2025 was a year of big changes. Around mid year I jumped at the BASI Systems cadillac and it not only let me feel like a major leap in my studio but also gave me the opportunity to build on my self practice that I was in training for. This was the 2nd year I had started a waitlist for private clients.
2026 is when we Expand
In just a few weeks we will have new equipment in my studio and have the ability to help 8 more clients a day!
2026 in March I was already just a few hours away from being fully booked out for private clients. Now in May, I am fully booked out for private lessons for the whole year. It is time to be teaching small groups (3-4 clients) just like the good old pilates studio days.
